Ebbsfleet, an underprivileged area primarily focused on industry, is home to a non-league football team that has the potential to drive significant positive change. This proposal for Ebbsfleet Park envisions a new stadium for Ebbsfleet United, aiming to foster community engagement and well-being, with ambitious targets set for the club's success by 2050.
The project is divided into two phases:
Phase One: Immediate construction of training and educational facilities for the football academy, designed to inspire and integrate the youth within the community.
Phase Two: Development of the main stadium, with innovative design inspired by the Municipal Stadium by Álvaro Siza, emphasizing openness and harmony with the surrounding terrain and context.
The proposed stadium features a unique three-sided design, open to the scenic Thames estuary. This layout offers spectators a distinctive matchday experience, with views of the bustling shipping lane, enhancing the connection between the stadium and its unique location.
Drawing inspiration from the historical Rosherville Gardens, a renowned Victorian-era pleasure garden, the project aims to recreate a park that captures the gardens' essence. This new park will provide a unique matchday experience, enhancing the club's identity and contributing to the socio-economic improvement of the community.
Ebbsfleet Park's innovative geometry and design aim to bring identity and recognition to a football club with a rich history but limited success. This optimistic proposal envisions a future where the club, its fans, and the wider community can thrive and prosper from these developments.
